TeamHamish Rainbow Ride – Update – Profile Alan Munro

Next up for our rider profile is Alan

Name: Alan Munro

Age : 44

Occupation: Owner of ADM Electrical

How is Training going:
Training is progressing well but the weather and work commitments have stopped me doing as much as I would have liked up to this point. The distances are increasing weekly and the hill work is continuing. I am definitely getting stronger and fitter as the weeks go on but unfortunately we are running out of weeks quickly.

Reason for taking part in this challenge:
My reason for taking part in this challenge is mainly to help raise as much money as we can for Teamhamish, it’s a fantastic charity and the proposed development of the seafront will benefit everyone whether you live in Nairn or come to visit. It will be a lovely legacy for Hamish Hey. I have never undertaken such a mammoth challenge like this before and as I love cycling it is the ultimate challenge in British cycling and one we can all be very proud of.

What are you looking forward to on the cycle:
I’m looking forward to journey through Britain as I’m sure we will pass through some stunning countryside that wouldn’t be appreciated fully from a vehicle. I’m also looking forward to the banter during the cycle. We have had some great days out training and the laughs are an ever present part. We will all have a lifetime memory of our trip from end to end.

What are you least looking forward to on the cycle:
I am least looking forward to pushing through the daily pain barrier and fatigue. Oh! and the hills, I don’t like hills !!
